Wash your wig every 7-10 wears or as needed. Use a sulfate-free, gentle shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for human hair wigs. Avoid scrubbing the hair; instead, gently massage the shampoo through the strands and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

 

Pat the wig dry with a soft towel to remove excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting the hair. Allow the wig to air dry on a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape. Be sure to use heat protection when using a hairdryer or hot tools, as excessive heat can damage the hair and alter the colour. 

 

When styling your wig, use heat tools sparingly and always apply a heat protectant spray. Opt for low to medium heat settings to prevent heat damage. You can also style your wig with non-heat methods, such as rollers or braiding for waves.

 

Use a wide-tooth comb or a brush designed for wigs to detangle the hair gently. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots to minimise shedding and breakage. Avoid brushing the wig when it’s wet to prevent damage. You can use leave in conditioners on the mid lengths to ends before brushing to help detangle, just keep it away from the roots! 

 

Store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use to maintain its shape and prevent tangling. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

 

Avoid exposing your wig to chlorine, saltwater, or hard water, as these can damage the hair. If you swim or exercise frequently, consider wearing a protective cap to shield your wig.

 

Use a deep conditioning treatment once a month to keep the hair moisturised and healthy. Apply the conditioner, leave it on for the recommended time, and rinse thoroughly.
